What are the responsibilities and job description for the Color Designer position at Creative Circle?
Our client is looking for a Color Designer to join their team! This is a 40 hr./week role Hybrid in Beaverton, OR.
This ideal candidate blends creativity, technical mastery, and instinct to elevate kids core footwear through the power of color. This person understands how color sparks emotion, drives narrative, and influences culture. In this role, you will drive an emotional connection to footwear through the use of narrative and storytelling.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with Material Design, Graphics, Product design, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development to build cohesive seasonal color direction
- Create color palettes and flows that align with category strategy
- Conduct in-depth research across sport, fashion, art, and culture to inform color decisions
- Review samples, troubleshoot color execution challenges, and drive accuracy from concept to manufacturing
- Support cross-functional designers with color expertise outside your assigned load when needed
- Lead yourself and teammates confidently through change, iteration, and ambiguity
Top Must-Haves:
- 2 YOE in color design for footwear
- Strategic color design for CORE design, longevity for color, not seasonally based color palettes
- Offering based on established color lines
- MUST include Portfolios
Nice to haves:
- Color inspo is pulled from clear inspiration sources, there is reason for why that color relates to the consumer and who it serves, clear story for how the consumer is going to interact with the product
- Ability to take feedback
- Has experience with enterprise level retailers
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
