Overview of the Role
Our enterprise financial services client is seeking an Instructional Designer to support change and training enablement initiatives within a dynamic business environment. This role focuses on translating change impacts into effective, user-centered training materials that help employees adopt new tools, processes, and ways of working.
The Instructional Designer will partner closely with change managers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand learning needs and develop structured training assets. This role requires strong organizational skills, an understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to create clear, actionable content for a variety of audiences.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented learning professional who can design practical, scalable training materials and support successful adoption of organizational change.
The Basics
- Duration: 1 year
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location: Hybrid, based in Westlake, TX (preferred), Austin, TX, or Lone Tree, CO
- Onsite Requirements: 4 days onsite per week (flexible on remote day)
Top 3 Required Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of experience in instructional design, training development, or learning support roles
- Experience designing structured training materials such as job aids, training guides, and learning modules
- Understanding of adult learning principles and how training supports organizational change adoption
Other Qualifications
- Experience developing both instructor-led and self-paced training content
- Basic understanding of change management concepts and frameworks
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across stakeholders
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities
- Familiarity with e-learning tools such as Articulate or Captivate is a plus
- Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) is a plus
- Exposure to technology, process, or operating model changes is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with change managers and stakeholders to understand change impacts and identify learning needs
- Design and develop training materials including instructor-led content, self-paced modules, job aids, and process guides
- Translate complex processes and changes into clear, user-friendly learning content
- Support development and execution of training plans aligned to change timelines and milestones
- Ensure training materials are aligned with messaging, business goals, and desired user behaviors
- Participate in testing and refinement of training materials based on user feedback
- Support coordination with learning platforms, tools, and delivery partners
- Maintain documentation and organization of training assets and materials
- Contribute to continuous improvement of training content and processes
