Must have skills:
- Extensive hands-on background in maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise-scale virtual desktop infrastructure environments
- Deep expertise with VMware technologies, including hypervisor platforms and vSphere administration
- Solid working knowledge of storage solutions such as Isilon and data protection tools (e.g., Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, or similar)
- Demonstrated consulting or advisory experience engaging directly with customers to communicate technical findings and propose actionable improvements
- Proven ability to coach and develop team members, particularly around VDI concepts and best practices
- Own and optimize virtual desktop environments built on platforms such as Horizon or Citrix, proactively identifying performance constraints and scaling opportunities to ensure consistent end-user reliability
- Serve as the escalation resource for complex data center and VDI issues, handling priority 1 and priority 2 tickets from the service desk and conducting thorough root cause analysis to implement lasting resolutions
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to evaluate their current environments, uncover misconfigurations, and deliver tailored recommendations that enhance overall performance and stability
- Troubleshoot availability, performance, and user experience concerns across infrastructure including virtualization, storage, networking, and disaster recovery
- Contribute to building out the team's VDI capabilities by mentoring engineers, leading knowledge-sharing sessions, and helping develop training materials for broader support staff
