We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accounting Manager to lead our cost accounting function within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing inventory valuation, standard costing, and financial analysis to support operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong manufacturing experience and a deep understanding of cost structures and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost control initiatives
- Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, and overhead) and provide actionable insights to operations leadership
- Oversee inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close for cost-related accounts, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Maintain and improve standard costing systems in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Partner with plant operations to develop budgets, forecasts, and cost reduction strategies
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation and internal controls
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive efficiency across manufacturing and accounting functions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, and production teams
