Job Summary The Accounting Clerk supports the finance department by performing day-to-day accounting and payroll functions. This role is responsible for processing payroll, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Accounting Clerk works closely with the CFO to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Maintain employee payroll records and timekeeping data
- Ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations
- Address payroll-related questions from employees
- Prepare payroll reports for review by the CFO
- Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and verify accuracy and proper authorization
- Prepare payments as scheduled by CFO (checks, online)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized and up-to-date AP records
- Accounts Receivable
- Send customer invoices and monthly statements
- Record incoming payments and apply them correctly
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts
- Reconcile AR records and assist with collections as needed
- General Accounting Support
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare reports and summaries for the CFO * Support audits and financial reviews
- Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Associate degree in accounting or finance preferred
- 5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll
- Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Experience with payroll processing
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Good organizational and time-management skills * Strong communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
