Covered California is seeking an exceptional Research Scientist Staff to serve as the Validation Specialist in Enterprise Analytics & Reporting. In this role, you'll work under the guidance of the Chief Data and Insights Officer, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and trustworthiness of the analyses, reports, and data sets that inform executive decisions, policy development, and equity initiatives.
As the Validation Specialist, you’ll facilitate the review of analytic methodologies, statistical models, and operational reports, ensuring alignment with the highest scientific standards. You'll partner with analytic teams, IT, privacy, and compliance experts to verify data quality, refine workflows, and strengthen de-identification practices to safeguard privacy. Your expertise will play a critical role in improving processes, enhancing documentation, and fostering consistency across Covered California's data operations, all while contributing to our mission of providing equitable and accessible healthcare.
Salary: $8,327.00 - $10,779.00 per Month

Qualifications We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience with statistical and data analytics
- Strong communications skills, with an emphasis on presenting technical results clearly in both presentations and written memos
- Proficiency using computer tools and technologies such as SAS, SQL, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Proven ability to independently validate analytic work and resolve issues
- Ability to understand business context and how data insights can drive strategic decisions
