What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Garden Assistant (LTE) position at COUNTY OF BROWN?
JOB REQUIREMENTS: In 2021, Extension managed 14 gardens with nearly 400
garden plots and 250 gardeners (some gardeners have two plots). Due to
demand for garden plots, the program is growing and new gardens will be
added and others will be expanded. Assistance is needed in completing
task including but not limited to: making sure water tanks are filled,
garden plots are planted and maintained, weeding, doing garden repairs,
hanging signage, assisting with installation of fencing and responding
to questions asked by gardeners. Essential Duties Maintain and continue
to build relationships with landowners, gardeners, volunteers, and
donors. Empower community gardeners to become more engaged in day-to-day
operations of gardens. Assist with garden tasks including but not
limited to making sure water tanks are filled, garden plots are planted
and maintained, weeding, doing garden repairs, hanging signage,
assisting with installation of fencing. Respond to questions from
gardeners. Communicate garden issues to Community Garden Coordinator.
