CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking an experienced IT Business Partner to serve as the strategic bridge between business stakeholders and IT. This role is ideal for a technology professional who understands both business operations and enterprise technology, with the ability to translate organizational goals into successful technology initiatives.
This position partners closely with the IT Project Management Office (PMO) and business leaders to identify opportunities, gather requirements, support project delivery, and ensure technology investments align with organizational priorities. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable facilitating executive discussions, documenting business needs, and collaborating with technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. IT Business Partners commonly act as the strategic interface between business units and IT, leading requirements gathering, solution planning, stakeholder engagement, and technology governance.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary liaison between business units and Information Technology
- Partner with department leaders to understand operational challenges and identify technology solutions
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for technology initiatives
- Collaborate with the IT PMO to support project planning, prioritization, execution, and governance
- Translate business objectives into functional and technical requirements
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirements sessions
- Assist with business case development, project intake, and technology roadmaps
- Support change management, user adoption, and communication efforts for new technology initiatives
- Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, developers, infrastructure, and vendors throughout project delivery
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and escalate issues when appropriate
- Analyze business processes and recommend opportunities for automation and continuous improvement
- Ensure technology solutions align with organizational strategy, security standards, and governance policies
- Develop documentation including business requirements, process maps, workflow diagrams, and executive presentations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of experience as an IT Business Partner, Business Analyst, Business Relationship Manager, or similar role
- Experience supporting enterprise technology projects within a PMO environment
- Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience creating business process documentation and workflow diagrams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government or public sector technology initiatives
- PMP, CBAP, PMI-PBA, or related certification
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar project management tools
- Familiarity with IT governance, portfolio management, and change management practices
- Experience supporting digital transformation or enterprise modernization initiatives
