We are currently seeking a Technology Support Specialist for a mission-driven environment in Mineral Wells, TX, where technology plays a critical role in delivering services that matter.
This role is ideal for someone with a service-first mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and a passion for improving the day-to-day IT experience of end-users while supporting broader infrastructure and security goals.
Key Responsibilities:
End-User & Technical Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for internal users across hardware, software, and network issues.
- Deliver high-quality technical support via phone, email, in-person, or remote access tools.
- Monitor, triage, and resolve service tickets within defined SLAs.
System & Infrastructure Maintenance
- Install, configure, and support desktop/laptop systems (Windows/macOS), mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Support Microsoft 365, printers, A/V equipment, and systems within meeting rooms and council chambers.
- Assist in updates, patches, backups, and preventive maintenance.
Security, Compliance & Inventory
- Help maintain IT asset inventory, licensing, and lifecycle tracking.
- Participate in cybersecurity efforts: patching, endpoint protection, and user awareness training.
- Ensure systems align with IT security policies and compliance requirements.
Training & Documentation
- Document resolutions, processes, and SOPs for internal knowledge sharing.
- Provide user training on new systems, features, or IT best practices.
Project & Collaboration Support
- Participate in tech rollouts, upgrades, and cross-departmental IT projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve escalated issues or implement solutions.
After-Hours Support
- Participate in on-call or emergency tech support rotation as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- 1 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support role.
- Working knowledge of:
- Windows OS, macOS, iOS, Chrome OS
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- TCP/IP networking concepts
- Ability to diagnose technical issues across software, hardware, and network layers.
- Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree or technical certifications (CompTIA A , Network , Security , Microsoft).
- Experience in municipal, public sector, or service-oriented tech environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based service desk operations and tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, crouch, bend, and access tight spaces for cabling and hardware setup.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods as job duties require.
