About the Role
Cornerstone Staffing is seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Agile Product Owner to support a large statewide Medicaid environment. As part of this initiative, you will collaborate with internal program units, technical teams, and vendors to analyze business needs, gather requirements, and prioritize enhancements that improve provider experience and system performance. This role demands strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management, as well as the ability to operate effectively within Agile frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will analyze program policies and business processes to identify system impacts and improvements. You will review and validate technical deliverables—including requirements documents, design specifications, test plans, and risk assessments—to ensure alignment with business and technical needs. You will work closely with program staff to gather, refine, and document requirements, acting as the liaison between state teams and contracted vendors. As the Agile Product Owner, you will maintain a prioritized backlog, write user stories with acceptance criteria, and collaborate with sprint teams to implement system enhancements. Additional responsibilities include developing test scenarios, participating in user acceptance testing, tracking testing results, identifying risks, reporting project status, managing deliverable schedules, conducting meetings.
Skills and Qualifications
Candidates must have at least eight years of experience working as a Business Analyst and Agile Product Owner, utilizing Agile methodologies and performing complex business analysis. Extensive experience writing technical documentation, reporting risks and project status to leadership, and developing mitigation strategies is essential. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are required for documenting requirements, test scenarios, and deliverables. Applicants must be proficient in collaborating with business users to gather and validate requirements and translating them into technical solutions. Experience reviewing technical requirements from vendors, creating and coordinating test plans, executing test cases, and using testing management software is also required. Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Office products and project management tools such as Microsoft Project. Additionally, experience with Medicaid systems, claims processing, and user story prioritization is mandatory.
