Air Import Specialist
Location DFW Airport, TX | Onsite
Compensation & Schedule
- $20–$24/hr
- Monday–Friday (Weekend as needed), 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
- W2, Temp to Hire
ROLE IMPACT: Responsible for coordinating and managing all activities related to international air import shipments. This includes communication with overseas agents and carriers, documentation handling, customs coordination, and ensuring timely cargo delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor flight ETAs and coordinate the transfer of cargo from the airport to designated warehouses.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure all required documentation is accurately prepared and
- submitted.
- Oversee the prompt and precise processing of terminal fees while maintaining detailed payment
- records.
- Oversee the import process for assigned accounts, ensuring timely and efficient handling
- from customs clearance to final delivery.
- Issue arrival notices, coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to track shipments, and resolve any issues.
- Manage the dispatch of goods from warehouses to final destinations, ensuring timely and efficient
- delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams, trucking partners to schedule pickups, monitor transit status, and
- resolve any delivery issues.
- Verify PODs and maintain accurate delivery records for all shipments.
- Maintain consistent communication with customers and Key Account Managers regarding air
- import shipments.
- Provide timely status updates, address inquiries proactively, and escalate critical issues to
- management as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement effective solutions that minimize disruptions and uphold customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and process invoices for air import shipments, ensuring charges (freight, terminal, handling, etc.)
- are accurate.
- Ensure billing information aligns with shipment records for month-end closures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of Air Import (Freight forwarding) experience preferred, but not required
- Strong computer data entry skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills via phone and email
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
