The MEP Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within construction projects. This role ensures that MEP scopes of work are completed on time and to the required quality and safety standards. The MEP Coordinator works closely with pre-construction, project teams, and trade partners to resolve MEP related issues and keep construction progressing smoothly.

- Coordinate the installation of MEP systems across project phases.
- Review MEP drawings, plans, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure alignment between architectural, structural, and MEP plans.
- Support PM’s in developing MEP project timelines and integrating them into the master schedule.
- Assist preconstruction with MEP constructability reviews at each design iteration.
- Assist preconstruction with MEP scope development for bid packages and post bid review.
- Identify potential design conflicts and recommend solutions to avoid delays.
- Attend MEP Trade Partner interviews/descopes to ensure scope coverage.
- Coordinate with trade partners, engineers, and project teams to resolve technical and design issues.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for MEP work.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor MEP work quality and compliance with project standards.
- Attend MEP and Cx coordination meetings and provide progress updates.
- Prepare regular reports on MEP progress, risks, and issues.
- Ensure MEP installations comply with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.
- Support the enforcement of site safety practices related to MEP activities.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
- 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Procore or similar coordination software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Must work well in a team environment and be committed to client service
- A valid Driver’s License
- Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection tools.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, or MEP-specific credentials and licenses).
- Experience with large-scale commercial, public works, and infrastructure projects.
- Primarily site-based with occasional office work.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required on construction sites.
- Willingness to travel throughout California for all project needs; support the Roseville, Emeryville and San Diego offices as needed.
- This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and employee is not eligible for overtime compensation.
