This integral role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-stakes projects in a dynamic environment, acting as the primary on-site representative to facilitate seamless communication, oversee progress, and resolve challenges.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main on-site point of contact, supporting owner, contractor, project team, and consultants throughout the construction process.
- Facilitate effective communication between all stakeholders, including reviewing and observing work progress, and providing timely updates on project status and quality.
- Assist in the review of construction schedules, advising on reasonableness, and recommend adjustments to align with project goals.
- Identify, expedite, and resolve design and construction issues, including RFIs, submittals, change management, and scope modifications, to maintain the construction timeline.
- Prepare and deliver weekly site observation reports covering progress, deficiencies, delays, and upcoming activities.
- Support BIM reviews, mock-up approvals, and other site-specific duties, coordinating meetings and onsite logistics with project personnel.
- Collaborate closely with the design team and contractors to resolve field issues and facilitate design revisions when necessary.
- Manage and review submittals, substitutions, RFIs, and change orders, removing roadblocks and streamlining administrative processes.
- Ensure safety compliance and report hazardous conditions or unsafe practices to the owner.
- Maintain site records, enforce quality standards, and uphold the project’s overall integrity.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience on large construction projects or 5 years’ experience specifically in hyperscale data center environments.
- Proven ability to function effectively as a representative on active construction sites, managing multiple stakeholders and complex schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and coordinate with diverse teams.
- Valid driver’s license, with the ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable laws, for roles requiring site travel.
- Physical ability to navigate active construction environments, including walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in outdoor conditions.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site safety standards.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site, with exposure to construction noise, dust, vibrations, and variable weather conditions.
- Ability to adapt to evolving site conditions and actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
