- Lead and mentor a team of CAD Designers and Drafters, promoting best practices, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Shape the strategic direction of engineering projects, from initial concept through final execution, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Establish and maintain CAD standards of practice, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Coordinate design reviews, updates, and resource allocation with department leaders to optimize project delivery.
- Participate in front-end project planning, contribute to Project Execution Plans, and oversee CAD setup activities.
- Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets related to design activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to design procedural interfaces and ensure integrated project execution.
- Educate engineering personnel on software functionality and best practices, working with vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Evaluate the skillsets of new personnel prior to project mobilization and oversee their onboarding.
- Ensure all designs meet quality standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols, continuously improving CAD practices and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field, with at least 7 years of relevant engineering experience, including supervisory or lead roles and project management.
- Alternatively, a High School Diploma with 12 years of relevant engineering experience, including leadership and project management.
- Proven experience managing a team of design professionals and executing complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong expertise in Civil and Structural Design, drafting, and CAD software, with a track record of guiding transitions to new design tools.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, document, and implement CAD standards and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, ANSI, ASME, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with plant layout design and process development is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate resources, and foster a culture of innovation and quality.
