Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day maintenance activities for dredging and heavy land-based equipment on active projects.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive maintenance, repairs, and servicing to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Monitor equipment condition, maintenance intervals, and lifecycle needs to prevent costly downtime.
- Maintain accurate and timely maintenance reports, logs, and documentation for compliance and performance tracking.
- Supervise and manage maintenance team members, including engineers, mechanics, and support staff.
- Assign tasks, prioritize workflows, and ensure all personnel are properly trained and adhere to safety standards.
- Enforce safety procedures across equipment, vessels, and work sites through routine inspections and hazard mitigation.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting for complex equipment issues, applying expertise in dredging machinery, hydraulics, electrical systems, and engines.
- Manage parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components, tracking restocking, and minimizing downtime.
- Prepare maintenance reports and performance updates for company management.
- Oversee maintenance costs, identify inefficiencies, and implement strategies to optimize resources and equipment uptime.
- Proven experience in maintenance management within heavy equipment and marine construction settings.
- Technical certification or degree related to heavy equipment, hydraulics, or marine construction is preferred
- Strong technical skills in dredging equipment, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing maintenance crews in a field environment.
- Ability to analyze operational data and implement cost-effective improvements.
