Job Overview
In this role the Service Repair Quality Technician will support service repair inspection activities to include testing, root cause analysis, and corrective action. In this role, you will maintain Quality Management System documentation and lead changes in process improvement initiatives as it relates to Quality in the Service Repair shop.

High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in an Inspection or Quality environment or 15 years as a mechanic in a Reciprocating Engines and Compressors service Repair environment.

Job Overview
In this role the Service Repair Quality Technician will support service repair inspection activities to include testing, root cause analysis, and corrective action. In this role, you will maintain Quality Management System documentation and lead changes in process improvement initiatives as it relates to Quality in the Service Repair shop.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect and test components and assemblies using predetermined specifications, methods, and inspection plans to validate repairs to requirements
- Be responsible for safe and efficient inspection of repairs including documenting “as found” and “as built” reports
- Perform and document inspection including photographs, dimensional measurements, physical testing, and non-destructive testing of components
- Review final inspections on all repaired products and review all documentation in job packages for accuracy
- Make “accept” and “reject” decisions on quality acceptability and initiate disposition on minor rework
- Assist with managing the calibration of measuring tools
- Process non-conformance issues and communicate with Engineering to obtain timely disposition of quality related concerns
- Responsible for training mechanics to use measuring tools and how to read drawing and Engineering specifications, including Service Bulletins and alerts.
Required Skills and Experience

Other Required Skills
- Shop Repair experience related to Reciprocating Engines and Compressors and subcomponents.
- Ability to use various types of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and optical comparators
- Ability to interpret blueprint requirements
- Familiar with ISO standards and Quality Management System requirements
- Basic Computer knowledge including SAP
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds physically able to perform labor
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
