The CAD Mechanical Designer will support the engineering team by working closely with design and project engineers to develop professional level part and assembly drawings. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Working out of ACI Services Office in Cambridge, OH, the CAD Designer is responsible for the technical accuracy and quality of drawings. The CAD Designer will play a central role in engineering development, maintaining schedules, quality, client specifications, design drafting packages, and new approaches to streamline deliverables, as well as editing and reviewing various high-level content.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Execute, with guidance from project and design engineers, the design and integration of new components into existing installations.
- Develop and recommend fits, tolerances and design changes for engineering review.
- Define and/or select components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements.
- Develop new BOMs specific to new customer installations.
- Modify existing BOMs and drawings, as necessary to support product revisions or enhancements.
- Assist the engineers with preparation of technical data to internal and external customers.
- Ensure ACI’s drawings and engineering standards are accurate and legible.
- Process Engineering Work Requests, requiring any drawing or BOM updates.
- Work closely with ACI’s drafting resources to ensure new or revised drawings are accurate and updated in a timely fashion.
- Execute, document, and communicate results of technical data generated.
- Participate in teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Applicants are expected to have at least one of the following:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Drafting/Design
- Undergraduate Certificate/Diploma in Drafting/Design
- Bachelor’s degree in Drafting & Design Engineering Technology
- Mechanical Drafting Technical Certificate
- Engineering Technology Degree with Drafting/Design coursework
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting
- Prefer 5 years of experience in product design, preferably with compression and/or engine background
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Proficient using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Must have a strong understanding of industry standards and ASME Code knowledge
- Must be able to read, revise and create detailed drawings, assembly drawings and customer’s blueprint, as necessary.
