Job Summary

The HSE Supervisor will lead a team of HSE specialist tasked with the implementation and maintenance of company-wide strategies and processes necessary to manage a broad spectrum of increasing regulatory and enforcement activities to help ensure compliance with applicable HSE laws and regulations. The HSE Supervisor will be required to collaborate with senior HSE management and Operations leadership to resolve strategic issues including but not limited to leading Incident investigations, development of HSE staff, reviewing and monitoring compliance programs and initiatives, ensuring the emergency response preparedness for operating area(s), being knowledgeable in operations including Drilling, Completions, Production, and Workover.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Exhibits effective leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills in daily interactions and team collaboration.
  • Lead and manage a team of HSE Specialists in assigned operating area, providing guidance, training and feedback as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with operations teams in the field and corporate offices.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and communicate a full spectrum of effective HSE programs.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of applicable rules and regulations for the oil & gas industry at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Develop and conduct training and/or awareness programs for operational personnel, contract personnel, and local community constituents.
  • Recognize and appropriately address any environmental and safety issues related to an assigned area of business.
  • Plan and execute assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Represent the company at industry and agency meetings, and hearings.
  • Identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk pertaining to environmental and safety compliance.
  • Leads and participates in HSE inspection and audit processes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manages and supports incident response activities, including investigations, mitigation planning and remediation efforts.
  • Support the implementation of corrective action plans for resolution.
  • Build effective relationships with regulators and industry peers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of related HSE experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state HSE regulations.
  • Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route / location.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Leadership experience.
  • E&P and multi-site HSE compliance support experience.


Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for extended period
  • Regular bending, crouching, pulling and kneeling to check equipment and gauges
  • Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs. without assistance
  • Work safely with machinery and equipment
  • Must be able to exert up to 40lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects
  • Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required
  • Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time safely
  • The ability to inspect and have close visual acuity to perform activities.
  • Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to work significant amount of time as required in completing job responsibilities.
