What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiserv Engineer / Administrator position at ConsultNet Technology Services and Solutions?
Client Engineer/Administrator
Salt Lake City, UT- 100% remote
6-12 month Contract
$80-$125 an hour
We are seeking an experienced Client Engineer and Administrator on behalf of a regional digital federal credit union based in Salt Lake City, UT. This 6-12 month fully remote contract role is a hands-on technical ownership position — not a supervisory or advisory one. You will be responsible for the configuration, scripting, and end-to-end management of data flows across the Client core banking platform and its integrations with cloud and virtualized infrastructure. The environment includes an AWS-hosted data layer connected via AWS Private Link, a Snowflake analytics layer driven entirely by SQL, and a VMware-virtualized server estate spanning two data centers and 13 branch locations. You will work closely with an internal SQL resource and collaborate with network and infrastructure teams, but you own the Client platform — its configuration, its automation, and the reliability of its data pipelines.
Client platform administration
- Hands-on experience administering a Client core banking platform (DNA, Signature, Portico, or equivalent) in a credit union or community banking environment
- Configuration ownership — parameter setup, product/service configuration, user entitlements, and release management
- Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Client data integrations and third-party interfaces
- Ability to read, write, and modify Client batch scripts and automated job schedules; comfort managing end-of-day and end-of-month processing cycles
- Familiarity with Client's online banking integration layer — understanding how digital banking channels connect to and depend on the core
- Proficiency writing and running SQL queries to support data extraction, transformation, and validation across core and reporting systems
- Experience scripting in PowerShell, Python, or shell to automate configuration tasks, data transfers, and scheduled jobs
- Ability to map, document, and troubleshoot data flows between Client and downstream systems — identifying breakpoints, latency issues, and data integrity failures
- Comfort managing file-based integrations (SFTP, flat-file processing, fixed-width or delimited formats common in core banking)
- Working knowledge of AWS — specifically VPC networking, S3, and Private Link connectivity as it relates to secure data transfer to and from the core
- Familiarity with Snowflake as a data warehouse destination — ability to collaborate with SQL-focused analysts and validate that upstream Client data arrives correctly
- Understanding of how core banking data moves through cloud pipelines — not required to architect AWS, but must be able to own the Client side of those integrations
- Comfort operating within a VMware vSphere environment — ability to work alongside infrastructure teams managing ESXi hosts, VM provisioning, and resource allocation as it pertains to Client application servers
- Experience supporting Client applications hosted on virtualized infrastructure, including understanding VM-level dependencies and performance considerations
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote capacity, coordinating with on-site infrastructure teams at data center and branch locations
- Prior experience supporting a federally regulated institution — credit union (NCUA), bank (FDIC/OCC), or equivalent
- Familiarity with data handling, audit trail, and access control requirements common in financial services technology environments
- Understanding of change control practices appropriate for core banking systems where unplanned downtime carries significant operational and compliance risk
- Client DNA platform experience specifically — deep familiarity with DNA's data model, configuration toolset, and integration APIs
- Experience migrating or upgrading a Client core platform version in a live financial institution environment
- Snowflake query writing and data pipeline validation — ability to go beyond collaboration and directly interrogate data at the warehouse layer
- AWS Private Link configuration and troubleshooting from the application side
- Familiarity with Veeam Backup & Replication as it applies to protecting Client application servers and ensuring recovery point objectives are met
- Prior work at or supporting a digital-first or branchless credit union with heavy online banking transaction volume
