Overview
This role is responsible for leading employee relations investigations across a multi-state environment. The position focuses on independently managing sensitive workplace matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and delivering clear, defensible outcomes that support business integrity and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end investigations into employee relations matters, including misconduct, grievances, and policy violations
• Develop investigative strategies, determine scope, and prioritize caseload based on risk and complexity
• Conduct interviews with employees, managers, and witnesses to gather and validate facts
• Analyze documentation, evidence, and testimony to determine findings and recommend outcomes
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and audit-ready documentation within case management systems
• Ensure investigations are completed within defined timelines and service expectations
• Partner with HR and Legal to align on approach, risk exposure, and recommended actions
• Communicate findings and updates to stakeholders in a clear, professional manner
• Identify trends and root causes across cases to inform broader HR and business decisions
• Support development and refinement of policies, procedures, and compliance practices
• Contribute to training initiatives related to employee relations and workplace compliance
Qualifications
• 4–7 years of experience in HR, employee relations, or workplace investigations
• Strong experience handling complex and sensitive investigations independently
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements (multi-state required)
• Experience with case management systems and HRIS tools
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously with minimal oversight
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
Preferred:
• HR certification (PHR or similar)
• Experience with enterprise HR systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, ServiceNow)
• Exposure to large, matrixed organizations
