What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Java Software Engineer position at Consulting Solutions?
This is not a hands-on Developer role. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of prior experience as a Java Developer and has spent the last 3 years leading a development team. The successful candidate must have demonstrated technical leadership experience, including mentoring developers, providing day-to-day technical guidance, and driving team execution. This person will lead an Agile team, facilitating and managing work through two-week sprint cycles while ensuring the team delivers high-quality results.
Position Title: JAVA Software Engineer Principal
Position Location: starts hybrid in one of the cities below but if converted to FTE it's 100% onsite position

- Farmers Branch, TX
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the team on day-to-day basis.
- Leading the agile crew in 2 week sprints.
- Heavily involved and highly engaged with stakeholders as well as product team and external teams.
- Guiding the team to make technical decisions.
- Working with the solution architects to review solution designs and provide approval.
- Responsible for deployment activities.
- Not a hands on development role on day-to-day basis, however needs to be able to jump in and do hands on development if situation arises.
Must Have Technical Skills:
- Must have at least 3-5 years of lead experience and 10 years of overall industry experience.
- Programing language: Java (primary) & JavaScript (would be a plus)
- Jenkins
- Jira
- GitHub
- Confluence
- OpenShift platform
- uDeploy
Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
- Authentication Domain Knowledge
- Financial or banking background is a plus.
