What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Cost Manager / Estimator - Owner's Rep / Project Management Consultancy position at Construction Irish - USA?
We're hiring a Cost Manager / Estimator for a national project management and cost consultancy in San Francisco. This is owner-side work — you'll be representing the client's interests, not the contractor's.
The team covers a mix of sectors including commercial, life sciences, tech, and mission-critical. You do not need data center experience to be considered — we're speaking to strong cost managers from all commercial backgrounds, and separately to people who have worked on data center programs.
What you'll be doing:
- Cost planning and estimating from concept through construction
- Procurement and bid analysis, contractor recommendations
- Change order review, cost reporting and forecasting
- Working directly with owners, design teams and GCs through the project lifecycle
What we're looking for:
- 5 years in cost management, quantity surveying or estimating
- Experience on the consultancy, owner's rep, or client side is preferred — GC estimators with a strong cost background will also be considered
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar
- Comfortable presenting numbers to owners and defending them
- Data center or mission-critical exposure is a plus, not a requirement
