Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Utilities / Facilities / HVAC Hiring Organization: Connexion Systems & Engineering Compensation, Benefits, and Employment Type Duration: 1+ year contract Job Location: Indianapolis, IN (100% onsite) Schedule: M-F, 1st shift Job#: bh Experience Levels & Pay Rates: Senior Level: up to $68.96/hr 8+ years of facilities or utility engineering experience Mid/Junior Level: up to $59.96/hr 2–7 years of facilities or utility engineering experience up Description: We are seeking Manufacturing Engineers with experience supporting utilities, facilities, and HVAC systems within regulated manufacturing environments. This role will support critical pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and infrastructure projects focused on system reliability, compliance, and operational efficiency. Position Overview The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, troubleshooting, optimizing, and maintaining plant utility systems including HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, and process gas systems. Both senior-level and mid/junior-level candidates are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Design, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain facility utility systems Support HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, and process gas infrastructure Develop and review: P&IDs Equipment specifications Engineering calculations Support capital projects including: Design review Installation Commissioning Qualification activities Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions Partner cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and project teams Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA/EMA regulations, and internal engineering standards Support reliability and uptime for 24/7 manufacturing operations Required Areas of Specialization Facilities & Utility Systems Engineering Strong hands-on experience with critical plant utilities including HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, and process gas systems within industrial or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. Pharmaceutical / GMP Manufacturing Support Experience supporting regulated manufacturing operations with knowledge of cGMP standards, FDA/EMA compliance, commissioning, qualification, and validated systems. Troubleshooting & Capital Project Engineering Ability to perform root-cause analysis, improve equipment reliability, and support capital projects from design through startup and commissioning. Preferred Qualifications Pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing experience Experience supporting GMP utility systems and facility infrastructure Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environments Please use the apply button to submit your resume for consideration.
