Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer / Senior Project Lead to support pharmaceutical manufacturing facility operations and capital projects. This role will focus on utility and facilities engineering, system optimization, compliance, and cross-functional project execution within a regulated GMP environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong pharmaceutical engineering experience, technical expertise in utility systems, and the ability to support complex manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain utility systems including:
HVAC
Chilled water
Steam systems
Compressed air
Process gases
Develop and review P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations.
Support capital projects through design, installation, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities.
Conduct root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for utility and facility-related issues.
Partner with maintenance, operations, and project teams to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
Ensure compliance with cGMP standards, FDA/EMA regulations, and internal engineering procedures.
Support 24/7 manufacturing operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
8+ years of experience in facilities or utility engineering within the pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing industry.
Strong working knowledge of pharmaceutical utility systems and infrastructure.
Experience with AutoCAD and interpretation/development of P&IDs.
Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and EMA compliance requirements.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale capital projects in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance strategies and reliability engineering.
Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced manufacturing operations.
