Powder Coating Technician

Connect Staffing is hiring an Aerospace Powder Coater for an aerospace parts manufacturer in Santa Ana, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $20–$25/hr, Monday–Friday with weekly overtime. In this role, you will apply powder coating finishes to aerospace components using electrostatic spray equipment, operate curing ovens, and inspect finished parts to aerospace quality standards. There are 1–2 openings available with a consistent daytime schedule.

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm

Responsibilities

• Prepare aerospace metal components for coating through cleaning, masking, blasting, or chemical treatment.
• Apply powder coating using electrostatic spray equipment to achieve consistent thickness and finish quality per specifications.
• Operate curing ovens and monitor temperature and cycle times to ensure proper coating adhesion and durability.
• Inspect coated parts for defects including uneven coverage, contamination, or improper curing.
• Use coating thickness measurement tools to verify parts meet aerospace quality standards.
• Maintain documentation and production records in accordance with aerospace quality systems.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• 1 year of powder coating, paint, or surface finishing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical drawings, and quality documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous powder coating experience in aerospace or metal finishing environments.
• Hands-on experience with electrostatic spray equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Experience with surface preparation methods including blasting, masking, and chemical treatment.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and documentation requirements (e.g., AS9100).
• Experience operating industrial curing ovens and monitoring temperature/cycle parameters.
