Rotor Technician Polisher

Connect Staffing is hiring a Machine Operator – Polishing / Grinding for a manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. In this role, you will operate abrasive belt and wheel polishing equipment to remove excess metal and surface defects from rotor bars and hardware components. This is a Monday-through-Friday overnight schedule with consistent hours.

Pay:$22–$27/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–5:00 AM (overnight)

Location: Houston, TX

Minimum Requirements

• 2 years of hands-on machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to produce precision parts.
• Skilled in basic math calculations and measurements using hand-held tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Comfortable working with metal components, performing repetitive tasks, and following strict safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with polishing, grinding, deburring, or surface finishing operations.
• Familiarity with abrasive belts, wheels, and setup procedures for polishing/grinding machines.
• Experience working specifically with rotor components or similar metal parts finishing.
• Knowledge of quality inspection and tolerance verification processes.

Responsibilities

• You will spend most of your time operating, polishing, and grinding equipment using abrasive belts and wheels to remove metal and surface defects from rotor bars, hardware, and accessory parts prior to finishing processes. You'll also:
• Select the appropriate abrasive belt or wheel based on grain size, finish specifications, and material type
• Attach abrasive belts and wheels to drive mechanisms and adjust equipment settings
• Inspect finished parts for surface quality and finish acceptability
• Use hand-held measuring tools to verify part specifications
• Complete labor cards, job tickets, and production documentation for your work area

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently
• Ability to work at a fast pace and meet production standards
• Steel-toe boots are required 
• Must pass a drug screen
• Must pass a background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (E-Verify)
