Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team supporting plant operations. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to continue developing their career while gaining exposure to cost accounting, inventory, month-end close, financial analysis, and plant-level operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and cost analysis initiatives
• Analyze operating costs and assist with variance reporting
• Prepare account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
• Assist with fixed asset and equipment tracking activities
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis efforts
• Participate in internal control processes and identify opportunities for process improvements
• Collaborate with operations leadership to support inventory, production, and capital expenditure initiatives
• Assist with special projects and continuous improvement efforts as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
• 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Understanding of financial statements and cost accounting concepts
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn and grow professionally
