A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Beaumont is seeking an Accountant to join its accounting team on a temp-to-hire basis.
This role will support full-cycle accounting functions for multiple assigned locations. Responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, budgeting support, month-end close, payroll support, vendor records, audit documentation, and financial statement review.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 2–5 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a professional communication style.
Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounting support for assigned locations.
- Manage AP, AR, revenue, expense, and bookkeeping activity.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Support month-end close and general ledger review.
- Assist with budget preparation and budget-to-actual monitoring.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports for leadership review.
- Support payroll processing and benefit tracking as needed.
- Maintain vendor records for 1099 and insurance purposes.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and accounting entries.
- Support audit requests and maintain proper financial documentation.
- Monitor financial transactions and internal controls.
- Communicate professionally with internal accounting leadership, staff, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 2 years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and month-end close.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional presentation and demeanor.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Beaumont.
