Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns to accurately identify service needs
- Explain repair and maintenance options clearly, including auto estimating and upselling additional services such as oil changes, brake repairs, or tire services
- Write detailed service orders and coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs, including diagnostics, transmissions, suspension, and diesel engine repairs
- Manage customer communication throughout the service process, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining accurate records
- Promote additional services by leveraging automotive knowledge in areas like alignments, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair
- Maintain a thorough understanding of dealership procedures and automotive repair processes to provide expert guidance
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership auto service management or as a service technician with strong mechanical knowledge
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, auto estimating, and service writing software
- Hands-on mechanic experience with expertise in vehicle maintenance, transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, shocks & struts, suspension systems, and diesel engines
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell services confidently and professionally
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including air brakes, alignments, auto body work, and auto sales processes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in cash handling and record keeping
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
