What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Investigator position at Confidential?
Nonprofit company in the Hudson Valley is looking for a Quality Assurance Investigator. The Compliance Department works to ensure the company is following all industry standards, policies, and regulations. Including conducting internal investigations and audits along with providing education for all company employees, as necessary. Creating, implementing best practices, and complying data to decrease exposure to intentional deception, and negligence in execution of company obligations.
Compliance Audits
- Assist in all phases of internal auditing.
- Assist in conducting audit follow-up, related to non-compliance with agency standards.
- Provide verbal and/or written feedback regarding findings.
- Contact oversight agency representatives as needed or as directed, to obtain, clarify information and/or technical assistance regarding regulatory or certification issues.
- Participate in agency committees as requested by supervisor.
- Keeps informed about regulation changes, trainings, conferences, workshops, etc. offered by and/or other agencies and attends as directed, or follows appropriate procedures for outside trainings.
- Formulate plan, processes and timetables to conduct an accurate, complete and thorough investigation within OPWDD-specified time frame.
- Work collaboratively with OPWDD, Justice Center and Local Police Departments to ensure that investigations are completed in a timely manner.
- Make recommendations to supervisor and Human Resources regarding possible violations of agency policies and/or OPWDD policy and procedures.
- Prepare investigation reports to present.
- Remain up to date with all NYS Justice Center, OPWDD and other regulatory agency changes to policies and procedures.
- Provide testimony at hearings to support the outcome of the investigation.
- Completes data entry into the IRMA and RIA systems and assists in the preparation of a variety of trend and tracking reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities, or Associates Degree with at least 4 years of experience
- Knowledge of Corporate Compliance Laws & Regulations
- Practical experience and understanding in the concepts of quality management and improvement and compliance preferred.
- Requires independent proactive thinking, organizational and strategic planning skills needed to carry out a wide variety of quality improvement activities and projects.
- Excellent communications skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with all levels of staff in a fast-paced environment required.
- Strict confidentiality required.
- Ability to work independently and know when to seek consultation is required.
- Must have valid NYS License and acceptable driving record based on agency standards
- Must hold NYS certification as an Investigator
- Knowledge of Corporate Compliance Laws & Regulations
- Must be proficient in IRMA, RIA and WSIR
