The Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities at the plant level, with a strong focus on cost control, inventory accuracy, and operational performance. This role serves as a key partner to plant leadership, providing financial visibility into production, efficiency, and overall plant performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead plant-level accounting operations, including close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead
- Track and explain variances related to production, scrap, and efficiency
- Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts, adjustments, and valuation accuracy
- Partner with plant leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning
- Provide financial insight into operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company accounting policies
- Support audits, including inventory and plant-specific financial reviews
- Identify opportunities to improve cost visibility and financial processes within the plant
Experience & Background
- 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with manufacturing experience required
- Prior experience supporting or leading plant-level finance strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory processes
- Experience working closely with operations or production teams
- Comfortable in a hands-on role within a fast-paced plant environment
- ERP system experience and strong Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
