Job Overview
General Mechanic – Multi-Equipment Maintenance
The General Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and experience working with diverse systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and engine-driven equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on various equipment and machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with company standards
- Electronically maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform timely repairs
- Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols and workplace procedures
- Work with the General Manager to maintain repair budgets

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic in a multi-equipment environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and repair techniques
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service diagrams
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting procedures
- Basic understanding of electrical systems
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Must have essential tools
- Experience with landscaping equipment
- Experience with compact tractors, loaders, and excavators
- Experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems
- Welding and fabrication experience

Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work environments
- Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and varying weather conditions
- Typical work week Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
- May require overtime, weekend, or on-call availability
