POSTED ON 5/14/2026

Job Summary
The Marketing Director is responsible for driving measurable revenue across all retail locations. This is a performance-first role focused on increasing:

  • Customer traffic
  • Conversion
  • Average ticket size
  • Customer frequency and retention
  • Promotion effectiveness and ROI

You will lead marketing efforts across multiple states, ensuring that promotions, digital presence, and in-store execution directly impact sales. This role owns the full marketing funnel—from digital presence to marketing strategy to in-store execution—and is accountable for turning marketing efforts into real sales results. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach—strategies must reflect the realities of each local and rural market.

You’ll lead and work alongside the marketing team, partnering closely with store teams, and you’ll own the results.

The Marketing Director is a key member of the team, capable of moving the brand forward.

Duties

  • Own marketing performance across all retail locations with a clear focus on driving revenue, increasing traffic, and growing average ticket size
  • Launch, manage, and continuously optimize weekly promotions based on real performance
  • Develop and test offers that convert, including bundles, doorbusters, and online-only deals
  • Develop and execute long-term marketing strategies aligned with Operational objectives
  • Analyze sales data weekly and take ownership of performance at the individual store level, adjusting strategies and implementing targeted action plans
  • Own and improve online menus and third-party platforms (Weedmaps, etc.) to maximize visibility and conversion
  • Own local search performance, including rankings, reviews, and listings across platforms customers use to find stores, with a focus on increasing visibility and driving in-store traffic
  • Oversee and optimize email and SMS campaigns with a focus on measurable return
  • Own and optimize targeted digital advertising (e.g., programmatic, geo-targeted), with clear measurement of performance and ROI
  • Work directly and collaboratively with store teams to improve: Promotional signage, Product visibility and merchandising and upselling at the counter
  • Regularly audit in-store execution of promotions, merchandising, and customer experience to ensure consistency and effectiveness
  • Partner with store teams to improve the full store environment—including exterior, parking, lighting, layout, and in-store aesthetic—to support conversion and average ticket growth
  • Lead and manage the marketing team, ensuring work is executed accurately, on time, and aligned with business goals while working collaboratively across teams
  • Hold team and partners accountable to performance, not just activity
  • Step in and execute directly when needed—this is a hands-on role
  • Manage marketing budget with a focus on ROI and efficiency
  • Collaborate with external agencies as needed, while maintaining ownership of outcomes
  • Own and optimize the customer loyalty program to drive repeat visits and retention, with clear measurement of ROI and disciplined management of discounting and margin impact
  • Partner with appropriate team members to refine pricing, product mix, attachment rates, and units per transaction through data-driven strategies
  • Actively monitor competitive activity across markets and adjust promotions, pricing, and positioning accordingly
  • Gather feedback from store teams and incorporate on-the-ground insights into marketing strategy and execution
  • Travel to store locations (~20%) to ensure alignment between marketing and in-store execution

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in retail or multi-location marketing (multi-state experience a plus)
  • Proven track record of driving revenue through promotions, pricing, and customer strategy
  • Strong understanding of customer behavior and what influences purchase decisions across diverse and local market conditions
  • Hands-on experience with: Online menus and platforms (Weedmaps or similar), local search and discovery (Google, reviews, listings, SEO), digital advertising (programmatic, geo-targeted, or similar), direct customer marketing channels (email, App Push, and similar)
  • Comfortable working with imperfect data and making fast, informed decisions
  • Strong ability to analyze sales performance and quickly adjust strategy based on results
  • Understanding of merchandising, in-store experience, and how physical environment impacts sales
  • Financial awareness, including understanding of margin, discounting, and ROI on promotions
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple locations, priorities, and deadlines
  • Willing to be hands-on—this is not a purely strategic role
  • Cannabis industry experience is a plus
  • Must be 21 and able to obtain required credentials (MED Badge, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel (~20%)

Pay: $68,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
