Reports To
The Installer will report directly to the Production Manager / Lead Field Technician. Also will need to work closely with sales staff to insure correct information is communicated, from template to installation.
Job Overview
Serves customers by installing natural and man made counter tops, fireplaces and other stone aspects within the industry. Collects crucial measurements and information to insure success with every job. Deals directly with customers and contractors while on job sites.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Carrying lifting and loading stone and other materials throughout the day
- Ensure all consumables and tools needed for the job are on the truck
- Ensure every piece needed for every job is on the truck and accounted for before leaving
Ensure Truck is loaded each morning for the daily Installation(s)
- Lifting and loading stone with other installers, and install crew each morning, and/or at the end of each shift
- Work with install crew in unloading stone on job site(s)
- Carrying lifting and loading stone and other materials throughout the day
- Ensure all consumables and tools needed for the job are on the truck
- Ensure every piece needed for every job is on the truck and accounted for before leaving
Ready each job site for the Installation
- Unload sawhorse, toolbox, silicon tubes, rags, chemicals, tools, extension cords, drop cloths, etc.
- Help maneuver stone and transport stone with carts
- Locate room(s) where the material is to be installed
- Confirm if and where power is on the job site
Complete Installations
- Communicate with Builder/Customer/Project Manager as issues arise on each and every job site
- Lift, mount tops on cabinetry and other sub tops
- Perform tear out if necessary
- Apply caulk, silicon, and other epoxy and adhesives
- Polish returns, edges, face polish, repair cracks, breaks, pitting, etc. as needed
- Field cut sinks, splash, tops and any other fabrication required in the field to complete jobs
- Shim tops to correct height and finish seams
- Install Sinks (We do not hook up plumbing)
- Modify cabinetry when needed (light duty)
- Ensure dimensions for each top match work order cut sheets.
- Confirm correct color, edge, overhang, support bars, and sinks for each piece on each top
Post Installation
- Remove excess adhesive/silicon, wipe down top
- Ensure tops and edges are clean, free of face scratches and pitting.
- Make additional touch ups to stone as needed. Polishing/Cutting, etc.
- Wipe down tops/Apply sealant (if natural Stone)
- Perform one more QA check, cover tops with plastic and move on
Qualifications include:
- Excellent customer service
- High school degree – GED Equivalent
- Basic computer skills (Laser templating)
- Must be able to use a smart phone (GPS)
- Clean driving record NCDL or ability to acquire one
- Good verbal communication
- Ability to lift in excess of 75 pounds throughout the course of the day
- Construction Experience/Background
- Mechanically inclined
- Willingness to adapt to and accept constructive feedback and implement necessary corrections in a timely manner.
- Good Attendance as well as be on time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
