Leasing Agent Job Summary
The Leasing Agent plays a key role in the success of the property by driving occupancy, providing outstanding customer service, and representing the community with professionalism and care. This position manages the leasing process from initial inquiry to move-in, ensuring residents feel valued and prospective tenants experience a seamless leasing journey.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Responsibilities and Duties
Leasing & Marketing
- Respond promptly and professionally to phone and email inquiries to generate prospective resident visits.
- Conduct property tours and demonstrate market-ready units using effective sales techniques to close prospects.
- Follow up with prospective residents to maintain engagement and improve conversion rates.
- Track and report all telephone and walk-in traffic using guest cards and traffic logs.
- Obtain lease information, process applications, and conduct credit, background, and reference checks.
- Maintain accurate and organized lease files.
- Conduct periodic market surveys as requested to stay informed of local trends and competitors.
- Promote resident retention by contacting residents on the renewal report who have not yet renewed their lease.
Lease Administration & Resident Relations
- Perform move-in inspections with new residents and ensure all documentation is completed.
- Maintain accurate and compliant legal and leasing records.
- Record daily leasing activity and update occupancy and vacancy reports.
- Assist with resident relations, including processing service requests and resolving concerns related to rent payments or maintenance.
- Support property management with the preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
- Assist with preparation of legal documentation for evictions, as necessary.
