Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented accounting professional to perform accounting, bookkeeping, tax analysis, tax coordination, and financial reporting for a privately held group of affiliated entities and family office activities.
This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of multiple entities, management of intercompany transactions, financial reporting, tax-related analysis, and oversight of one remote accounting team member. The successful candidate will serve as a key resource to the organization by helping identify tax implications, entity-level considerations, and providing reports and analysis.
This role requires a strong understanding of multi-entity accounting, tax concepts, distributions, depreciation, related-party transactions, and financial reporting, along with the ability to work independently and proactively identify issues before they become problems. A high level of integrity and confidentiality is required.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Management
· Perform accounting operations for multiple affiliated entities and family office activities
· Perform bookkeeping functions
· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
· Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliation and close processes
· Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
· Manage intercompany transactions, allocations, and reconciliations
· Oversee related-party transactions, including loans, transfers, and distributions among entities
· Coordinate audit preparation
· Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting requirements
· Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation
Tax Analysis and Coordination
· Serve as the organization's internal resource on tax-related matters
· Review tax returns and prepare tax information, even if not responsible for signing or filing returns
· Support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for improved tax efficiency
· Assist with all corporate, partnership, non-profit and individual tax matters
· Monitor state filing requirements and nexus considerations
· Oversee fixed asset accounting and proactively identify depreciation planning opportunities to optimize tax outcomes and financial reporting
· Evaluate and administer owner distributions and equity transactions, providing guidance on tax consequences, entity-level impacts, and capital planning strategies
· Ensure timely delivery of information required for tax compliance and planning
· Proactively identify tax issues, opportunities, and planning considerations for ownership and management
· Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
Family Office Accounting
· Prepare recurring financial and net worth reporting
· Maintain personal financial statements
· Reconcile investment and brokerage accounts
· Assist with cash management and reporting across personal and business entities
· Track ownership interests, capital accounts, and related financial information
Leadership and Team Management
· Supervise and support one remote accounting team member
· Delegate tasks and review work for accuracy and completeness
· Establish procedures and accountability measures
· Provide training, guidance, and process improvements
· Foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement
Required Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· 5 years of progressive accounting experience
· Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany accounting
· Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors
· Experience with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, privately held businesses, or closely held companies preferred
