What are the responsibilities and job description for the FABRICATION MANAGER position at Confidential?
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the Fabrication & Vessel shop, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met.
- Knowledge of ASME Div VIII (Sections 1 & 2)
- Lead and coordinate the work of welders, fitters, and other fabrication personnel.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and job orders to determine work assignments and material requirements.
- Monitor production schedules and make adjustments to meet deadlines.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate employees to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Collaborate with Quality Control and Engineering teams to address nonconformance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate production and performance records, including shift reports and labor tracking.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist with workforce planning, hiring recommendations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in fabrication, pressure vessels, and heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including fitting, welding (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW), cutting, and finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of enforcing safety and quality standards.
- Familiarity with ASME codes and fabrication tolerances preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, technical certification, or associate degree a plus.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced industrial setting in a heavy fabrication shop.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and supervise on the shop floor for extended periods.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
