We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee and manage the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting. The Controller will play a key role in strategic planning, ensuring GAAP compliance, managing the general ledger, and supporting business decision-making through accurate financial analysis and reporting. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Assist in the development of financial strategies and plans to support business growth and objectives.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
GAAP Compliance
- Ensure all accounting practices and financial statements comply with GAAP.
- Stay current on new GAAP standards and implement changes as required.
- Provide guidance and training to the accounting team on GAAP compliance.
General Ledger (GL) Management
- Maintain and oversee the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of GL accounts.
- Ensure proper classification and coding of all financial transactions.
Accounting Systems
- Utilize ERP and/or accounting systems to manage transactions, generate reports, and maintain records.
- Ensure systems are used efficiently and effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve accounting system issues.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Manage invoicing, payment recording, and monitoring of overdue accounts.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and accurate records.
- Work with customers to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Oversee invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and resolution of discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain AP policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Inventory Control
- Support purchasing processes with a focus on inventory count, valuation, and reconciliation to GL balances.
- Monitor warehouse operations and production cost activities in collaboration with operations leadership.
Leasing
- Manage accounting for leases, including agreements, payments, and reconciliations.
- Ensure lease transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Assist with lease negotiations and provide financial analysis.
Month-End Close
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Generate and review month-end financial statements.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal reporting requirements.
Audit
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits.
- Coordinate with auditors to provide documentation and resolve findings.
- Implement audit recommendations to strengthen controls and processes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Mentor, train, and support accounting staff.
- Participate in special projects to improve accounting processes and systems.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance required.
- Master’s degree and/or CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant corporate accounting experience, with a strong focus on general ledger accounting.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data source linking.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
