This is a commission-only, 1099 independent contractor role offering autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to represent established luxury furniture collections. To support effective territory coverage and relationship management, candidates should be based within 60–90 minutes of the Boston area.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow territory performance through proactive prospecting and strategic relationship development
- Represent premium, design-driven furniture collections to designers, showrooms, and trade partners
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with key accounts across the region
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to accounts, ensuring consistent communication and follow-through
- Operate independently while partnering with sales leadership on regional growth strategies
- Coordinate with internal teams to support a high-quality customer experience
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, account engagement, and pipeline progress
- Attend and represent the collections at industry events, markets, and trade-focused functions
- Support brand presence and market expansion within the territory
Independent Contractor Structure
- 1099 independent contractor role (not an employee position)
- Compensation is 100% commission-based and performance-driven
- Contractor is responsible for all business expenses, taxes, and insurance
- Ability to represent additional, non-competing product lines with approval
Qualifications & Experience
- Background in furniture, design-driven products, or a related industry
- Demonstrated success in consultative, relationship-based sales
- Ability to independently manage and grow a multi-state territory
- Established relationships within the interior design and trade community preferred
