What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Confidential Posting?
This is a confidential search for an HR Generalist position within the manufacturing industry in the Northern Indiana - Michiana area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for the facility, providing guidance on policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and driving employee engagement initiatives
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process & agency coordination for direct labor hires including production and some skilled trades, including sourcing, interviewing, and facilitating a high-energy onboarding experience
- Maintain all personnel records and ensure the facility remains compliant with federal and state labor laws, OSHA requirements, and mandatory safety training documentation
- Provide essential administrative support to the plant leadership, including managing office supplies, vendor deliveries, and general front-office reception duties
- Assist the Operations team with production-related administrative tasks, such as tracking supply orders and supporting inventory documentation as needed
- Act as a liaison between the local manufacturing team and the larger corporate parent to ensure corporate HR initiatives are effectively implemented at the site level
POSITION REQUIRMENTS:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of HR experience, ideally in a solo-contributor capacity or within a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision while effectively prioritizing HR duties alongside plant support needs
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with both shop-floor employees and corporate leadership
- Willingness to "wear many hats" and jump into operations, supply ordering, or administrative tasks outside of traditional HR scopes
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Direct experience in rubber or plastic manufacturing environments is highly desirable
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Paycor, UKG) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Works in an office environment with moderate noise levels, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, and working on a computer
- Frequently will spent time in Production and or Warehouse areas. Must wear required PPE in the designated operations areas
- Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 annually
