Shipping Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to lead outbound operations within a fast-paced distribution environment. This position is responsible for ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time while leading a team of warehouse associates and driving operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the warehouse floor, developing employees, and improving processes to support customer satisfaction and business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day shipping operations including picking, packing, staging, and shipment processing.
- Lead and develop a team of 16–40 warehouse associates.
- Manage labor schedules and staffing plans to support daily shipping volumes.
- Monitor key performance indicators including on-time shipments, order accuracy, productivity, and fulfillment metrics.
- Coordinate outbound shipments with UPS, FedEx, USPS, and LTL/FTL carriers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and safety procedures.
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and shipping software to support efficient operations.
- Troubleshoot shipping issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements and increase operational efficiency.
- Prepare and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or distribution leadership.
- Previous experience supervising employees in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Experience with shipping systems, WMS platforms, and inventory transactions.
- Strong knowledge of parcel and freight shipping processes.
- Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
