Property Controller / VP of Finance
A fast-growing, entrepreneurial real estate investment and operating firm is seeking a Property Controller / VP of Finance to join its finance leadership team. The firm owns and operates a diverse portfolio across multifamily, residential, and commercial assets and is experiencing significant growth.
This individual will oversee property-level accounting and financial reporting across the portfolio, partnering closely with leadership to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and scalable processes as the platform continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee property accounting and financial reporting across a diversified real estate portfolio
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for property entities
- Review and analyze property-level financial statements, operating results, and variances
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of internal and external reporting
- Partner with asset management and operations teams to support financial performance and decision-making
- Help develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure as the company scales
- Manage and mentor accounting staff and coordinate with external auditors and service providers as needed
Qualifications
- 8 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property accounting
- Strong experience with multifamily and/or commercial real estate portfolios
- Prior leadership experience overseeing accounting teams and reporting processes
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise
- CPA preferred

- $160,000-$200,000 base 10-20% discretionary bonus (based on experience)
