This highly visible leadership role will partner directly with ownership and senior management to support continued growth, operational excellence, and financial performance across a diverse portfolio of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company’s full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversee all construction accounting functions, including job costing, project financial tracking, contract management, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis and reporting for ownership
- Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives
- Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and profitability reporting across multiple active construction projects
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger functions
- Partner with operations and project management teams to monitor project performance, labor productivity, and cost controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, internal controls, and construction industry best practices
- Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, insurance reporting, and bonding requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting systems, and financial controls to support scalability
- Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to ownership and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and WIP reporting
- Experience managing accounting operations for commercial, multifamily, industrial, or concrete construction projects
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
- Experience working with bonding, insurance reporting, and lender relationships is highly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with ownership, operations, and project management teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
