Director of Accounting

The Director of Accounting will be the #1 leader of all accounting functions and will be responsible for managing the accounting department of the company, including monthly financial statements, financial reporting, compliance and year end audit. Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliations and general ledger.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
• Coordinate, lead and complete annual audits.
• Provide recommendations for improving systems and processes, and manage the implementation of these improvements in both accounting procedures and ERP systems.
• Meet financial accounting objectives pertaining to the accounting associated with cost, inventory and cost rolls.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Partner with Finance leadership team with the budgeting and planning process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Public Accounting experience and CPA preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing setting
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others at all levels within the organization
