Our large, multi-location client is searching for a strong Accounting Manager to partner with the Senior Accounting Manager and manage a small team. This individual will play a critical role in strengthening accounting operations, enhancing financial processes, and supporting the continued growth of this Company. Their ideal candidate must have supervisory experience and 4 years of operational accounting experience.

Responsibilities:
- Lead operational accounting functions to maintain the general ledger, including oversight of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by the accounting team.
- Oversee and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations for accuracy and appropriateness; personally prepare reconciliations for high-risk or complex accounts.
- Investigate, resolve, and document significant accounting and financial reporting issues.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, senior accountants, and staff accountants.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure the timely preparation and review of audit workpapers.
- Collaborate with regional finance leadership to provide accounting guidance and support.
- Analyze monthly financial results, providing clear commentary on variances, trends, and key drivers; perform ad hoc analyses as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements and technology enhancements to support scalability and operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and documentation for accounting functions.
- Review complex contracts and transactions to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Monitor and implement new accounting standards and pronouncements as applicable.
- Support the design and maintenance of effective internal controls over key accounting processes.
- Utilize and support ERP applications, including managing system implementations and upgrades.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to support business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree
- Supervisory experience is required.
- 4 years of operational accounting experience is required.
- CPA license is highly desired.
- Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting (Oracle preferred)
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
