Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a team of five accounting professionals, with a strong focus on lease accounting and fixed assets. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASC 842), and maintaining accurate financial reporting related to leases and capital assets. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and an effective people leader who can drive process improvements and maintain a high standard of accuracy.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting staff, providing ongoing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative environment and support professional growth
- Directly supervise a team of accounting professionals, including assigning work, setting priorities, and evaluating performance
- Participate in hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination decisions, or provide recommendations that are given particular weight
- Oversee all aspects of lease accounting, including recognition, measurement, and ongoing compliance with ASC 842
- Partner with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Operations, Legal) to ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities related to lease accounting
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations
- Manage fixed asset subledger and support related close activities
- Make decisions regarding accounting treatment, process design, and issue resolution with minimal supervision
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Evaluate and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and systems
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to resolve business and accounting issues impacting financial results
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Accounting and corporate objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
- 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including management experience
- Strong expertise in lease accounting (ASC 842 required)
- Solid experience with fixed asset accounting and asset lifecycle management
- Proven experience managing and developing a team
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience in a mid- to large-size organization
- Background in process improvement or system implementations
- Public accounting experience (a plus)
Compensation and Benefits
Reports ToDirector, Accounting CompensationThe listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.- Base: $135,000 - $150,000 per year
- Bonus: 20% Target Bonus
- Total Compensation (Base Bonus): The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $135,000 - $180,000
- Equity: This role is not eligible for equity opportunities, awards or grants
