Network Engineer I
Pay Rate: $40/hour
Duration: 6–12 month contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Hybrid – Elgin, Chicago, and customer sites (local travel required)

Role Overview
Support mission?critical public safety video and communications systems, overseeing the technical delivery of projects from award through system acceptance. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement video networks, including infrastructure, VMS, and camera systems
- Lead technical execution from project award through acceptance testing
- Perform system staging, testing, configuration, integration, and troubleshooting
- Develop engineering designs, diagrams, bills of materials, and final documentation
- Create installation plans, scopes of work, and test plans
- Support Project Managers, installation teams, and subcontractors
- Conduct site walks to define customer requirements and project scope
- Serve as a technical liaison to customers, contractors, and trades
- Deliver customer training and technical presentations
- Bachelor’s degree (BSEE or BSCE preferred)
- 3 years of experience in video system integration, network/system engineering, or wireless communications
- Strong IP networking knowledge (Ethernet, TCP/IP, Layer 2/3)
- Experience with IP cameras and video management systems
- Strong communication, organization, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with outdoor wireless solutions (PtP/PtMP), Cambium Networks preferred
- Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
- RF and microwave system design experience
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, Network , Juniper, Nokia, or similar)
