Our client is currently seeking a qualified Level 1 Information Systems Specialist to join their team onsite in Berkeley, CA and provide end-user support.
This role will provide hands-on support for computers, mobile devices, printers, and basic network systems. The specialist will help install, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for staff.
Duties And Responsibilities
The rate for this position is between $18.00 - $26.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and printers
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for end users (in person or remotely)
- Validate device warranties with manufacturers
- Document support activities and resolutions in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system
- Assist with user account setup and management (e.g., shared drives, mailboxes)
- Install and update software applications
- Coordinate with vendors or third-party support when needed
- Create and update internal knowledge base articles
- Schedule and support on-site technical services
- Basic understanding of PC hardware and operating systems
- Familiarity with network basics (cabling, architecture, connectivity)
- Experience with standard office software (Word, Excel, databases, web browsers)
- Knowledge of multifunction printers and basic networking
- Exposure to tools like Citrix, FortiToken, and Microsoft Intune (for managing devices)
- Ability to follow department policies and procedures
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in a unionized or government setting is a plus
- Successful working in a collaborative, team setting
