Our client is currently seeking a qualified Lead Information Systems Specialist to join their team onsite in Berkeley, CA and provide end-user support.
This role will oversee and execute advanced technical support operations across client departments; lead the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems; mentor junior technicians; and serve as a key escalation point for complex issues. This role ensures seamless IT service delivery and alignment with departmental and client-wide technology needs.
Duties And Responsibilities
The rate for this position is between $25.50 - $37.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead and be hands-on in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers
- Validate warranty status and coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for support and replacements
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for incidents and service requests
- Serve as an escalation point for technical issues and guide junior technicians in resolution strategies
- Create, maintain, and improve internal knowledge base documentation
- Ensure accurate and timely updates in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system
- Coordinate and schedule on-site support services with end users and external providers
- Analyze departmental hardware/software needs and implement upgrades or installations
- Manage user accounts, including network drives, shared mailboxes, and distribution lists
- Oversee software installations and resolve application-related issues
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems, and network architecture
- Experience with network cabling, operating systems, and internet infrastructure
- Proficiency in standard office applications (databases, word processing, spreadsheets)
- Familiarity with Citrix, FortiToken, and Microsoft Intune for device management
- Understanding of multifunction printers and basic networking principles
- Ability to interpret and apply departmental IT policies and procedures
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate cross-departmental IT efforts
- Skilled in mentoring and training junior staff
- Effective communicator with strong customer service orientation
- Experience in unionized or government environments is highly valued
- Successful working in a collaborative, team setting
