What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at COMPANY?
We are seeking an Accountant with 2–5 years of experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, to join our team in Somerset County, NJ. This is a fully on-site role offering the opportunity to work across a broad range of accounting and finance functions in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations and transaction reviews
- Support the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Oversee and ensure accuracy across financial systems, including Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and AR/AP aging reports
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and ensure data integrity across all accounting processes
- Collaborate with offshore accounting teams to support daily operations and reporting
- Lead month-end close activities, including accruals, prepaid schedules, and account reconciliations
- Perform variance and trend analysis, identifying discrepancies and recommending improvements
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including reporting on purchases, expenses, payments, and aging
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Experience with SAP required
- Experience working with offshore teams
